Lincoln Cathedral is a Grade I Listed Building, located within a Conservation Area and designated as a Scheduled Ancient Monument.

New Developments

Construction of a new building housing:

  • Exhibition space

  • Learning facilities

  • Visitor welcome area

Conversion of the Old Deanery building into a café and community space

Public Realm Enhancements

  • Creation of a new public landscape to unify external spaces

  • Installation of a new lighting scheme to highlight the Cathedral as a beacon and landmark

Conservation Works

  • Restoration of the Gallery of Kings on the west front

  • Conservation of the Romanesque frieze, both of international significance

Engagement & Programmes

  • Delivery of a comprehensive activity and exhibition programme to support learning and community involvement

CM’s Role

Worked closely with the client team on successful National Lottery Heritage Fund (Round 1 & Round 2) applications

Led procurement of a consultant team of 15 practices, including:

  • Conservation and new build architects

  • Landscape designer

  • Lighting designer

Integrated design work with activities, business planning, and conservation planning
